Holiday Circus
Sir Toony’s friends are spending the Christmas Holiday season in New York putting on the Holiday Circus at the Master Theater (formerly the Millennium Theater) in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, NY. They invited him to come to New York to be a guest clown and help entertain the kids before and after the show.
Sir Toony spent the weekend of Saturday, December 21st in New York and was there for three shows.
Emceeing the show as a jolly Santa is clown Joe Barney, a veteran of Ringling Brothers and the Big Apple Circus. Bringing “her” hilarious antics for the first time to Holiday Circus is the mischievous, but loveable clown, “Grandma,” as portrayed by the accomplished performer Mark Gindick. World-class illusionist Brad Ross, who was named “Best International Family Entertainer” by the International Magic Society, is ready to amaze audiences.
Reston Town Center Holiday Parade
On Friday, November 29th, 2013, Sir Toony Van Dukes joined a few of his friends from Just Clowning Around of Northern Virginia to participate in the Reston Holiday Parade at the Reston Town Center.
For the parade, Mike created a new prop, two giant Christmas cookies, one with a giant bite taken out of it. He went down the parade route telling everyone how much he likes to eat Christmas Cookies.
Mid-Atlantic Clown Association Convention
Every year, I attend several conventions, partly to have fun and partly to learn. In November 2013, I attended the Mid-Atlantic Clown Association Convention in Harrisburg, PA. At the convention, I attended several lectures, did some shopping at the vendors, entered competitions, and had fun at the theme parties. I came home with the 2nd place trophey in the single balloon competition; multiple balloons competition; and full face, face painting competition. I also wond a 3rd place trophey for a group skit with my friends Miguel and Asia.
I also created a two part video at the convention…

Balloon and Face Painting Jam
Each month, Balloons By Mike hosts a balloon and face painting jam at the Cici’s Pizza in
Chantilly. It is normally on the 2nd Monday of the month. A jam is a gathering of entertainers designed to provide an opportunity to socialize, share ideas, and practice. There are usually opportunities for the kids in the restaurant to have their faces painted or get a balloon. The entertainers at the jam welcome tips.
It is hard to say exactly what time the jam will begin. Mike tries to arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 and grab some food from the buffet. Others show up before Mike or later in the evening. The jam usually continues until 9:00pm. The jam is open to face painters and balloon twisters of all skill levels.
